# Class settings

> What you can change about a class, section by section, and where the time zone is.

Open the class and select **Settings**. The rail lists **General**, **Standards**, **Co-teachers**, **Integrations** for classes linked to Google Classroom, and **Danger zone** for the owner. General saves with a **Save changes** button; the others save as you go.

## General

| Setting         | What it does                                                                                                             |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Class name**  | Shown on your dashboard and to students                                                                                  |
| **Subject**     | Required. Used to match rubrics and standards. Don't include "AP" in the subject for an AP class                         |
| **Grade level** | Required. Helps match standards suggestions when tagging                                                                 |
| **Time zone**   | Used to interpret every assignment due date and deadline in this class. This is the only time zone setting in GradingPal |
| **Class color** | The accent on class cards, the class header and your dashboard                                                           |
| **Join code**   | Read-only, with **Copy** and **Invite link**. Students use it to enrol without a Google Classroom link                   |

## Standards

With no sets chosen: **No standards chosen yet** and a **Choose standard sets** button that opens the Standards tab. With sets: each framework and how many standards it holds, whether mastery tracking is on, and **Open Standards tab**. ## Co-teachers

The owner and co-teachers, **Invite co-teacher**, and for Classroom classes **Sync from Google Classroom**. [Invite a co-teacher](/teachers/classes/co-teachers).

## Integrations

Shown only for a class linked to Google Classroom.

| Setting                                        | What it does                                                                                                                                               |
| ---------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Google Classroom** with a **Connected** chip | Read-only. Submissions arrive automatically; roster changes need **Sync from Google Classroom** on the Students tab                                        |
| **Allow manual student enrollment**            | Off by default on an imported class. Turn it on to add students by hand; the warning explains that manually added students' work won't sync from Classroom |

There is no class-level auto-sync toggle. Whether an assignment syncs follows the assignment's own collection mode.

## Danger zone

| Row                   | What it does                                                                                                                                                                                                   |
| --------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Delete this class** | Removes the class and all its assignments, submissions and grades from your account. There is no undo in the app. A class imported from Google Classroom stops syncing; the course can be imported again later |

There is no archive and no leave-class action. A co-teacher who should no longer have access is removed by the owner under Co-teachers.

## What this does not mean

* Changing the time zone doesn't move due dates. It changes how the dates you typed are read.
* The join code isn't per assignment. Resetting it from the Students tab invalidates every link that carried it.
