# Create a presentation or art assignment

> Setup is the same as a writing assignment. This page covers only what's different.

Presentations and art are open-response types: the AI grades against a rubric, and the steps are the ones on [Create a writing or essay assignment](/teachers/create/writing). Read that page for the procedure. Here is what changes.

## What you upload

* **Presentations** take slide decks and documents: PDF, PowerPoint, and Google Slides picked from Drive. Comments land by slide or section rather than on a line of text.
* **Art & Design** takes documents and images: JPEG, PNG, HEIC and the other image types, or a PDF portfolio.
* GradingPal doesn't look for handwriting in slides or artwork, so a scanned handwritten piece is better set up as writing.
* Neither takes video or audio. For a recorded presentation, use [Video & Audio](/teachers/create/video-audio).

## How to word a rubric for work that isn't text

Write each criterion as something the AI can see in the file. "Uses contrast to direct the eye" can be judged from an image; "presented confidently" can't. Put delivery and process criteria in a rubric you score yourself, or ask for a short written reflection alongside the work and grade that as writing.
