# Students cannot see their grades

> My class says they can't see anything. What did I miss?

**Nothing is visible to students until you share it. Approving is not sharing.** Nine times in ten, that's the whole answer.

## Check these first

1. Open the assignment's **Submissions** tab and read the pills. **Ready to share** means approved, not sent. Only **Shared** means the student has it.
2. If rows say **Ready to share**, select **Share with class** in the bar at the top and go through the dialog. [Share feedback with students](/teachers/share/share-feedback)

## If the rows do say Shared

| The share dialog said some students **can't be reached yet** | Those students have no email and aren't on the Classroom roster. They got nothing | Add an email on their row with **Edit student details**, then select **Send** on the row. Or print their reports                                                                                                   |
| A **Feedback goes out** chip in the bar                      | You scheduled the release. Nothing goes out until then                            | Wait, or select the cross on the chip and share now                                                                                                                                                                |
| The student got the email but says there's no grade          | Points are hidden for this assignment. They see levels and feedback, no numbers   | That's by design. To show points, change **Hide points from students** in the grading rules, or **Show points to student** on that submission                                                                      |
| Nobody in the class got the email                            | A school or district email filter is blocking it                                  | Ask your IT team to allow mail from **[hello@mail.gradingpal.ai](mailto:hello@mail.gradingpal.ai)**. Until then, students can sign in at app.gradingpal.ai and open the assignment; shared work reads **Returned** |
| The student says the email never came                        | Spam, or a wrong address                                                          | Check the address on the row. ## The wrong instinct

Don't share again and again from the bar; every row that's already **Shared** is skipped. Fix the one student's row instead.
