Fix it before anyone sees it. export const updated_0 = "19 September 2026" export const page_0 = "/teachers/fix/wrong-student" Two situations, and they have different fixes: before grading, and after. ## Check these first 1. Is the work shared? A **Shared** row can't be reassigned. Everything else can. 2. Is there a row that says **Needs student**? That's the other half of the mix-up; its **Assign** button is part of the fix. ## Before grading On the **Match submissions** screen, change the student in the row's dropdown. For a batch scan whose pages went to the wrong person, select **Adjust pages** and move the pages, or **Re-split** to start the split again. Nothing is graded until you select **Confirm & grade**. ## After grading | What you see | What to do | | ------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | A graded row with the wrong name | Open the row's menu and select **Reassign student**. Pick the right student and select **Confirm reassignment**. The grades, feedback and analytics move with the submission; the original student keeps anything else they own | | The right student already has a submission | The dialog asks how to resolve it: **Swap the two submissions**, or **Discard their submission and reassign**, which can't be undone | | A row that says **Needs student** | Select **Assign**, then pick the student or add a new one | | A **Shared** row with the wrong name | Reassigning is blocked once the student has seen it. Contact support with the submission ID from the row's menu | ## The wrong instinct Deleting the submission and uploading it again under the right name.
