# Connect Google Classroom

> Link your Google account correctly the first time, and reconnect when it stops syncing.

### Limits and notes

* **On Google's permission screen, choose Select all.** A partial grant is the single most common cause of failure, and the failure looks unrelated: imports and syncs stop working later.
* Connect with the Google account you teach from. A Google account already linked to a different GradingPal user is refused.
* Each teacher connects their own account. A co-teacher who hasn't can sync through the owner's connection for a while, but should connect their own.

## Connect

    Select **New Class** and **Import from Google Classroom**, or on a class's Students tab **Add student** > **Sync from Google Classroom**. Onboarding offers **Connect Google Classroom** too.

    A dialog shows Google's screen with the box ticked: "On the next Google screen, choose Select all so GradingPal can import your classes and keep rosters in sync." Select **I understand, connect**.

    Tick **Select all** \[1], then continue. Leaving any box unticked breaks importing and syncing.

## How to tell it worked

You're back in GradingPal on the import screen's **Select courses** step, or the sync runs and toasts how many students it added. A class linked to Classroom shows **Connected** under **Settings > Integrations** and a small Classroom mark on its assignments.

## Reconnect

When the connection expires, a banner reads **Reconnect Google Classroom to keep syncing**, and a failed Drive-based submission offers **Reconnect Google**. Select it and choose **Select all** again. Reconnecting loses nothing: "Your existing classes stay exactly as they are."

## If something goes wrong

    The link to that file expired before you reconnected. Ask the student to turn it in again.
