# Export standards reports

> Get a class summary, a student report or the evidence detail as a file you can take to a conference or send home.

### Limits and notes

* Reports reflect the mastery settings at the moment you export. Change the scale later and an old report won't match.
* The student report is PDF only. The other two also come as Excel or CSV.

## Export a report

    On the class's **Standards** tab, select **Export**.

  <Step title="Pick the report">
    **Class summary**: where the class stands on each standard. **Student report**: one student's progress, for conferences and families. **Evidence detail**: the graded work samples behind the numbers.

  <Step title="Narrow it">
    Choose the **Student** (or all, one page each), the **Standards**, and a **Time range** from all time to a custom range.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose the audience and format">
    **For me** is your working view with levels, percentages and evidence counts. **For families** is plain language, ready to send home. Pick **Excel**, **CSV** or **PDF**, then **Download**.

## What each contains

| **Class summary**   | Every covered standard with the class level or average and how many students are at each level | Individual student names in the family version |
| **Student report**  | One student's level per standard, the trend, and the assignments that contributed              | Other students                                 |
| **Evidence detail** | Each graded item that counted, with its score, category and weight                             | Nothing; it's the raw trail                    |

## How to tell it worked

The file downloads named for the class and the report. A family report reads as plain sentences with no percentages.

## If something goes wrong

    Fix the custom range.

    They haven't reached the minimum evidence on that standard. The report says so rather than guessing a level.
