Limits and notes

  • Only students whose email Google shares with GradingPal are imported. The rest are skipped, and the message says how many.
  • Adding students by hand is off by default on an imported class. Turn on Allow manual student enrollment under Settings > Integrations if you need it.
  • Keeping the list current is something you run, with Sync from Google Classroom. It doesn’t happen on its own.

Import

Connect

Select New Class and Import from Google Classroom. If you haven’t connected, the Connect step runs first. Connect Google Classroom

Select courses

Under Choose classes to import, tick the courses you want, or Select all. Courses already in GradingPal are marked Already imported. Select Continue.

Configure

Under Set up your classes, give each course a subject, grade levels and, if you like, standards and a time zone. Select Import N classes.

What arrives

The class, you, any co-teachers on the course, and every student whose email Google shares. Co-teachers get access when they next sign in to GradingPal. A student Google won’t share an email for is skipped: “N students couldn’t be added because Google doesn’t share their email with us.” Add those by hand after turning on manual enrolment.

Keep the roster current

On the class’s Students tab, select Add student > Sync from Google Classroom. The toast says how many new students arrived, or Your roster is up to date. Students removed from the course aren’t removed here; use Remove from class on their row.

How to tell it worked

A toast reads N classes imported. The class is in your rail, its Students tab lists the students with Synced from Google Classroom, and Settings > Integrations shows Connected.

If something goes wrong

“Check you signed in with the account you teach from.” Reconnect with the right Google account.
Each course already has a class in GradingPal. Open the one you’re after from the list.
Google didn’t share their email. Turn on manual enrolment and add them by hand, or ask your Google admin about the class roster email setting.
You’re a co-teacher who hasn’t connected your own Google account. It worked this time; connect your own so it keeps working.
