  • Who: Teachers and co-teachers

Limits and notes

  • There is no separate return-grades button. Grades go back when you share feedback.
  • Only assignments GradingPal created in Classroom can receive grades. For one created inside Classroom, Google refuses, and feedback goes by email instead.
  • Classroom may not mark work as Returned when you uploaded it yourself rather than the student turning it in. The grade still lands.

Open the share dialog

When rows are Ready to share, select Share with class in the bar, then Share digitally.

Turn on the Classroom option

Turn on Post to Google Classroom with grades attached. The hint reads “Posts a graded item to Classroom — students see their grade there, not new work.” For an assignment not collected through Classroom, the same toggle posts it there with the grades.

Share

Select Share now. The count under via Google Classroom tells you how many students get it that way.
To make this the default, turn on Post feedback to Google Classroom under Settings > Distribution.

What lands in Classroom

The grade, as both the draft and the assigned grade on the student’s submission, and the link to their feedback in GradingPal from the assignment’s description. Classroom returns the submission where it can. The rubric, the comments and the feedback text live in GradingPal; the student follows the link to read them.

How to tell it worked

Rows read Shared and the share toast counts the students reached via Classroom. In Classroom, the grade shows on each student’s submission.

If something goes wrong

Sharing stops rather than half-completing. Reconnect Google and share again, or turn the Classroom option off and share by email.
The assignment was created inside Classroom. Feedback was sent by email instead. Next time, create it in GradingPal and post from there.
You uploaded the work yourself, so there was no student turn-in for Classroom to return. The grade is correct.
