Who can use this?

  • Who: Teachers and co-teachers

  • Where: The grading screen for a Video & Audio assignment

Limits and notes

  • The screen has two tabs, Rubric Scoring and Feedback. There’s no grammar check for recordings.
  • Ask GradingPal cannot watch or listen to the recording. Ask it for wording help, not for judgment about the content.
  • Approving and sharing work the same as on any grading screen.

The player and the markers

The recording plays on the left, badged Video submission or Audio submission. Under it, the scrubber carries one amber marker per timestamped comment, including the ones the AI made. Hover a marker to read the comment; click it to jump there and open the Feedback tab.

Comment on a moment

Pause where you want to comment

Play or scrub to the moment. The button under the player reads Add comment at and the current time.

Write it

Select the button. Playback pauses, the Feedback tab opens, and a draft card appears in Timestamped comments with the time on it. Write, then select Comment. Cancel leaves no trace.

Adjust if needed

Each comment card has a time chip that jumps to that moment, a pencil to edit the text or the time, and a delete control.

Score it

Rubric Scoring works as it does for writing: a card per criterion with the level bar, the points and the AI analysis. Change a level, give a reason, Confirm change. Change a score covers it.

How to tell it worked

The scrubber shows a marker for each of your comments, and the Timestamped comments count matches. The student will see the comments in the same place on their player.

If something goes wrong

“The file may have moved or the link expired.” Reload the page. If it persists, replace the file from the row on the Submissions tab.
Open the comment’s pencil menu and change the Timestamp field.
It can’t watch or listen. It can rewrite your comments and check the rubric scores against your notes.
