A score looks wrong - GradingPal Help

Three tools, three jobs. Pick by what’s actually wrong.

Check these first

Open the submission and read the AI analysis under the criterion. It says what the AI saw. Half the time the score is defensible once you read it.
On a scan, check the pages chip on the question card. If it says the wrong page, the score came from the wrong page.

Which one

The AI misread the student’s answer on a multiple-choice or matching question	Correct the recorded answer with Edit student’s response; the score follows	The score is computed from the answer against your key, so fix the answer
The feedback is right but worded badly	Ask GradingPal to rewrite it	It proposes, you accept, nothing else changes
Several students are wrong the same way	Check the answer key or rubric on the Assignment tab. Fix it there and choose Save & re-grade	One fix, every submission
The AI graded the wrong pages of a scan	Assign pages, then Re-grade it for that question	The score can only be right once the page is
A Visual question looks odd	Check it yourself. “Accuracy may be lower for diagrams & images”	The AI is reading a drawing
Grading is too harsh, or too generous, across the class	The rubric’s level descriptions leave room for judgment	Sharpen the wording of each level on the rubric, and add a grading instruction such as Do not round borderline work up or one in your own words about how generous to be. Save with Save & re-grade. Grading and feedback instructions
The total or “out of” isn’t what I expected	Points come from every question, including a parent question and its sub-parts, or from the top level of each rubric criterion	Check the points on the Questions editor or the rubric’s total on the Assignment tab, and adjust there. The wrong instinct

Regrading to fix one score. A regrade replaces the AI’s grades, the feedback, and every edit you made on that submission. Use it when the assignment itself changed, not for one criterion.
