Tips for Worksheet Grading
Provide Answer Keys
Adding correct answers to your rubrics dramatically improves accuracy: Without answer key: AI interprets what might be correct based on the question. With answer key: AI compares student responses to your specified answers. For fill-in-the-blank, include acceptable variations:“Correct answers: photosynthesis, photo-synthesis, Photosynthesis”
Use Clear Formatting
Worksheets with clear formatting extract better:- Number questions clearly (1, 2, 3 or 1a, 1b, 2a, etc.)
- Use consistent spacing
- Separate sections visually
- Include point values when possible
Handle Different Question Types
Matching questions:- AI can recognize matching formats
- Each correct pair earns points
- Specify how many points per match
- Works best when labels are clearly numbered
- Add descriptions of what each label should be
- AI identifies the selected answer
- Grades against the correct option
Scanning Tips
For handwritten worksheets:- Use good lighting when photographing
- Ensure text is legible
- Flatten pages before scanning
- Use high contrast settings
